Q:How can I record audio-streams from radio stations I play with Windows Media Player, RealAudio Player, etc?

Some customers ask me that they can not find stereo mixer option in sound card's record control. I tested some sound cards carefully including Creative SB Live!, Diamond S90, and Intel AC97 integrated sound card and wrote a report here.

Creative SB Live!
Click MP3 Recorder XP's "Source" button, popup below dialog.

This is default SB Live's options. in order to record sound from internet broadcasting and sound played by other windows application like media player, you must click Options menu then click properties, illustrated below

Tick "Record Master" checkbox above then Click MP3 Recorder XP's "Source" button again.

Now "Record Master" option is available. you select it. then open windows media player to tune Radio station.

Click MP3 Recorder XP's record button start to record internet broadcasting.

below is AC97 intel integrated Audio sound card's recording control, you choose Stereo Mix instead.

below is Diamond S90 (Aureal Audio) sound card's recording control, you also choose Stereo Mixer.
